Amy Colpitts taught in the UAE for over ten years. Story Caravan began the way most good ideas do — with a gap she kept running into: her pupils could find plenty of stories about faraway places, but almost none set in the landscape right outside their classroom window.
The Gingerbread Camel is the book she wrote to fill that gap — a familiar tale reimagined with the animals, textures and warmth of the desert her students called home.
